Bikini Hotels & Mountain Hotels Port de Sóller
Today we thought it was time to visit the chic hotel Bikini Mountain Hotel Port de Soller. From its name, you can tell that it’s situated close to Port de Soller, which is located on the north coast of Mallorca. Port de Soller is a beautiful part of the island where its natural port is nestled in between the Tramuntana mountain range. The atmosphere here is incredible and always makes me at ease each time I’m on a visit.
“Feels like a warm bohemian hug”
Entering Bikini Mountain Hotel feels like a warm bohemian hug. Despite the size of it, you instantly feel at ease and the atmosphere is super laidback. The concept of the hotel goes back to the hippie era that started in San Francisco in the 60’s. It’s designed with no such things as holding back and that reflects in the hippie movement’s core value of freedom. Layers and layers of creative details lie everywhere you go, such as the art pieces recycled from Mallorquin weaving mill (image 1), eclectic range of vintage finds (image 2), and one of my personal favorites, the peace pool (image 3). It’s a real contemporary 60/70’s interpretation, and I admire how the spirit of the Bauhaus architecture that the house is built in still remains, but with a new interesting 60/70’s layer.
“Felt more inspired than ever leaving this special place”
As it’s a high-end hotel, the german studio Dreimeta has done a great job using opulent and characteristic materials. The terrazzo floor has been kept from the preexisting building to tastefully be matched with new materials. Planning wise I think they’ve done a wonderful job letting each usage of areas seamlessly blend into one another, which suits me perfectly being one of those people loving to walk around with a drink from table to table. Bikini Mountain Hotel sure didn’t leave me hanging and I felt more inspired than ever leaving this special place.
