Best secret beaches in Mallorca

This summer we’ve had a mission. We wanted to visit the best secluded beaches and Calas (Spanish for bays) in Mallorca. There are 262 beaches in Mallorca, so happily we can continue with this for a long time ahead. During high season we think it’s crucial to have a beach where you can feel at ease, read a book in peace, and not have to mill with hundreds of people around you. We hope that these places can provide you with the peace and quiet you need!

Es Canyeret

If you’re ever visiting Deia, this is a really cool bay that you shouldn’t miss. The key here is to park close to a hotel called Hotel Hoposa Costa d’Or or on a smaller road above the Ma-10 to then walk down until you reach stairs leading down to a walk along olive trees. You follow the small road along until the end and then take a right until you see rocks where you can lay by. This bay should not be mistaken for Cala Deia, and it’s a little further from Deia but worth the road when not many people are familiar with it. There is one bay when windy creates a circular stream, which is an adventure by itself, but be careful and have respect for the streams.

Cala Petita

This is a small, telling from its name, Cala in the East part of Mallorca. It’s close to the little port town Porto Cristo and a hike away from the closest residential area with a road called Avinguda Cala Petita. The water here is crystal clear and it’s often not a lot of people there. The hike there is also very special with eroded flat sandstone and green lush plants along the entire cobalt blue coast line until you reach the turquoise little Cala.

Platja des Coll Baix

This dreamy beach is located in the municipality of Alcudia in the Northern parts of Mallorca. Platja des coll Baix will impress you from the first glimpse you’ll get from high above. It’s a bay below when you reach it from a hike down the mountain and beautiful forest. It’s also perfect for reaching this bay by boat. The sea is very clear so bring your snorkel to discover the sea below. Something unique with this beach is that super cute red-haired goats are roaming around, so be mindful of your picnic.

Cala Delta

When I first visited Cala Delta it was something I had never experienced before. The natural sharp shaped sandstone that creates the flat surface down by the sea are shaped in that way because this is from where some of the sandstone used to the famous Cathedral in Palma, mmm, derives from. The Cala is located just 15 min north from Palma and you park at the xxx viewpoint, to then hike down towards the sea. There are many different spots along the way where you can enjoy a lot of privacy. This spot is also perfect for your dog with the walk down and then the flat surfaces where they can cool down. If you visit on a windy day you can enjoy impressive waves hitting the rocks!
