Celebrating Christmas in Mallorca

This year we are celebrating Christmas in Mallorca, and it really is magical! The incredible light shining everywhere, the smell of open fires, and the fresh oranges with cloves hanging in the windows. Christmas in Mallorca feels traditional and mixes that with a Mediterranean feel with the beautiful quiet nature and the sun that brights up the darker days after Christmas.

“The sun that brights up the darker days after Christmas”

During Christmas in Mallorca, there are loads of things to do. Our favourite thing to do is to visit all of the Christmas markets that are around the island. Our favorite lots are Pueblo Español, a chirstmas market loacted in the small area where iconic Spanish buildings are replicated in scale 2:1, Puerto Portals Christmas Market, along the harbour with beutiful products in the stalls and a lovely Christmassy vibe at the restaurants, and La Rambla Christmas Market in Palma, where you can find the most amazing products crafted by local craftsmen and women.

“A large variety of Chrismas markets”

Amongst all other things such as the incredible Christmas lights that are switched on in November, the Nativity scenes created with the famous ceramic “Siruell” sculptures that have a different design from each town (and are actually quiet nice to decorate with throughout the entire year), and the massive Swedish Lucia celebration in Palma Cathedral, there is one thing that brings us the most peace in our hearts and the quiet hikes.

“Nothing brings so much peace than a hike”

There is nothing that brings so much peace and gratitude than hiking an entire day in the magical nature of Mallorca when the sun is shining and the temperature is perfect for you to enjoy a hot beverage overlooking the sea from the mountains. Mallorca is not just a paradise during the summer, but also a peaceful haven that is well-needed for us during the Christmas rest.
